Back to Gather

Privacy

This covers usegather.co and the Gather waitlist. The short version: if you join, we keep your email so we can say hello and tell you when Gather is ready. That’s it.

Who we are

This site is run by David Adegoke. If you have a question about your data, email hello@usegather.co.

What we keep

When you join the waitlist we store:

We don’t ask for your name, and we don’t keep anything else.

Why we keep it

To send you two emails: a quick hello when you join, and one more on the day Gather launches. And to know whether to build for iPhone or Android first. We rely on your consent for this, which you give by joining. You can take it back at any time: every email has an unsubscribe link, and using it deletes your email straight away.

We don’t sell your email, share it with advertisers or send you a newsletter.

Cookies and tracking

This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or ad trackers. Once you’ve joined, your browser remembers that on your own device, so the page doesn’t ask you again. That note never leaves your browser, and clearing your site data removes it.

Our fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties.

To keep bots off the waitlist and the contact form, both run a check from Cloudflare Turnstile. It looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address, without setting tracking cookies, and Cloudflare uses them only to tell people from bots. Most people never see it. We also count how often each IP address sends a form, for a minute at a time, so nobody can flood them. That count isn’t kept.

Where it’s stored

This site and the waitlist are both run on Cloudflare: the waitlist is held in a Cloudflare database, which stores it for us and doesn’t use it for anything else. Our emails are sent through Resend, which handles your address only to deliver them. Like most websites, Cloudflare may keep short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running.

If you write to us

Messages from the contact form are emailed to our inbox, with your address as the reply-to, so we can answer you. They aren’t added to the waitlist or stored anywhere else, and we delete them once the conversation is over. If you use “hold to talk”, your browser turns your voice into text using its own speech service (for example Google’s in Chrome, or Apple’s in Safari) before anything reaches us.

How long we keep it

Until we’ve sent the launch email. After that we delete the waitlist. If you ask us to remove you sooner, we will.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it. Email hello@usegather.co from the address you signed up with and we’ll reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

If this changes, we’ll update the page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email, we’ll ask you first.

Contact

Say it however it comes out.

A real person reads every message. Messy is fine.

When’s launch?

No date yet. iPhone and Android ship together, and waitlist members hear first: one email, the day it’s ready.

Still want to ask something? Write it above.

What’s it about? (optional)

Usually answered within 2 working days.

Got it. It’s with a human now.
